I am still looking for a club that touch your soul like the Garage did. I think that i'am going to my grave without reliving it again. Spoiled!!!
Lookin forward to the anaversary party, maybe the sprit will be felt at King St.

I went V.I.P. with my wife, and we had a BLAST! Got to see Mr. Mel Cheren.
I love you people for keeping our memories alive, I still miss The Garage. I just purchased the 5 Album Series of the Final Days Mixes in Vynl featuring Larry's Mixes. They are Fantastic find. I just need to get 4/5 & 5/5 to complete the series. I was once a former member. So PLEASE, Lets keep in touch. . . Bless Y'all !!!

First went to the Garage with friends when I lived in Lower East Side 1982. It was spiritual...saw Grace Jones twice, Junior and (British singer) there. Did I see Adeva there? I think so. Amazing but fuzzy memories now. One morning, about 5 or 6, a Gospel choir came in and started singing. Place was the shit. Went with lots of friends who are long gone Alejandro Nunez, Fred Ballestrino, Fred Haines, Pedro Quesada, Freddy Nunez, Reuben Hinorojas, Ricky Johnston...Used to run into people I knew from California, London and Atlanta up on the rooftop. Does the membership list still exist? Would be amazing to see. The base still permeates my bones...

I am flooded with the many wonderful memories of King & Varick. I was 17 when I started going to The Garage; taking the train from da Bronx to meet my friends. Playing it cool, knowing all the while i wanted to scream from the thrill of being in the sweetest place. My friends uptown couldn't understand why i didn't want to go to the usual spots anymore. But, getting lost in the BASS and dance without any care was, as they say, priceless. I feel so blessed to have been there. I, too, still have my t-shirt...yea, bragin'rights.

I wish I could relive those days at the Paradise Garage, there has not been a club that has come close to the fun and music I had at the Garage. Love that house music Larry used to play for us, and the fact that we had no liquor was the best part, these kids today could not hang like we did back in da day. I hope I am around when they have another memorial night and I am in New York for it.

Though Mike Brody had the best spot and Larry was the greatest DJ, what made the Garage was the people. Everyone who went there went to have a good time and left all the attitude at the door. There will never be another. We can only have the memories which will last as long as we live. Rob
